Patients at the town’s biggest medical practice may experience appointment delays for a few days due to a computer records merger.
Bay Medical Group will merge its database with Westgate surgery starting on Friday, November 18 and appointments could be affected until the morning of Tuesday, November 22.
Bay Medical Group – formed after a merger between Coastal Medical Group, Westgate and Meadowside Lancaster and Heysham – will only offer urgent on-day appointments on Friday, November 18.
After noon on November 18 there will be no nurse appointments, only a few urgent blood test appointments.
There will be no 8 to 8 service from November 18 until 6.30pm on November 21.
If you require medical assistance during this period the 111 service and Out of Hours will both be running.
Between those dates, the treatment rooms will be offering only a limited service.
Bay Medical Group has asked that patients only contact the surgeries during this time if they have an urgent problem.
Westgate Surgery became part of Bay Medical Group on October 1.
