Morecambe band bring sound to Platform

MORECAMBE based Dizzy Hack and the Rhino Horns bring their big band sound to the Platform on October 14.

The 18 piece band, led by Morecambrian trumpet player Adrian Boardman, formed in January 2009 and since then they have been fast gaining a reputation as an exhilarating musical force delivering quality music.

The band’s “whirlwind tour” through the genres jumps from Sinatra to Stevie Wonder via funk, soul, Latin, pop and swing classics. Tickets are £10/6 concessions and doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm performance.

Also coming up at the Platform next month is popular The Jam tribute band From The Jam, led by former The Jam and Stiff Little Fingers bassist Bruce Foxton. Tickets are £20, from 8pm.

On October 27, former Fairground Attraction singer and solo artist Eddi Reader performs from 8pm, tickets are £20, and on October 29, the Johnny Cash Tribute Roadshow rolls in bringing an “audio and visual spectacle” to the Platform.

Clive John and The Spirit Band deliver all the hits including The Ring of Fire, Boy Named Sue, Folsom Prison Blues, Man In Black, One Piece at a Time, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Hurt and many of the duets Johnny and June were famous for including Jackson and It Ain’t Me Babe.

Tickets for the show are £20, doors 8pm.
