More new homes planned for Lune Valley village

Plans to build 70 new homes on farmland in Halton have been submitted to Lancaster City Council.

Kendal based Russell Armer Homes have applied to build the new properties on land off Kirkby Lonsdale Road, to the north east of Pointer Grove. The application is for a mix of various sized homes, ranging from one bedroom studio apartments, bungalows, and four bed houses.

Access to the site would be off Kirkby Lonsdale Road. The plans come just a few weeks after Story Homes were given permission by councillors on the planning committee to build up to 85 new homes on fields off High Road in Halton, opposite The Centre@Halton.

The Russell Armer Homes development would include some open green space and would try to incorporate existing boundaries and trees, with new planting, where possible, the application stated.

It is understood that 28 of the 70 homes, or 40 per cent of the total would be “affordable homes” for local occupancy.

A consultation event on the proposed development was held in Halton in June last year.
