THE Medical Director at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust (UHMBT), Peter Dyer, is stepping down after two terms.
Peter will still fulfil his clinical role as Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, as well as being involved in a review of education, training and research at UHMBT.
Sir David Henshaw, Chair, UHMBT, said: “I would like to thank Peter for his hard work, commitment and dedication over the past six years.
“Peter has a passion for education and training and will be of real benefit to this forthcoming review.
“We will be going out to advert for a new permanent Medical Director but in the meantime, I am very pleased that Mr George Nasmyth, General and Colorectal Surgeon and Associate Medical Director, has agreed to become the interim Medical Director.
“I am sure you will all join me in welcoming George to the post at this important time in our development.”
During his time as Interim Medical Director, George will continue in his role as an Associate Dean with the NHS North West Deanery.
