A KIRKBY Lonsdale man is in intensive care with serious injuries after the car he was driving collided with a dry stone wall.
The incident occurred just after midnight on Monday on the A65 at Cowan Bridge, when the 19-year-old driver’s blue Peugeot 205 left the road on a bend and collided with a dry stone wall before coming to rest on a dirt track.
The driver was thrown from the car and had to be freed from underneath the wreckage by Cumbria Fire and Rescue.
He was transported to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary where he is being treated in intensive care for a number of serious fractures to his head and body.
