A MAN fell 14m onto rocks near a waterfall in Ingleton on Sunday.
The 54-year-old, who was one of 13 canyoners getting ready to jump off Beezley Falls, slipped at the top and hit rocks on his way down, sustaining head and serious leg injuries.
The Clapham Cave Rescue Organisation and fire crews from Kirkby Lonsdale, Bentham, Richmond, Kendal and Ripon attended the scene at around 4pm. The man, from East Yorkshire, was being supported by two members of his party in the water, and was placed onto a thin stretcher and hauled up onto a rock ledge before being winched up into an RAF helicopter.
He was taken to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.
