Scotforth vicar Rev Michael Gisbourne has welcomed the opening of a brand new fundraising website.

Scotforth St Paul’s Church, working with race2fundraise.com, launched the site as part of a bid to replace the church roof, which needs extensive work costing more than £200,000.

There are three skill based games planned on the website over the next few months, starting with ‘Pedallo from Lancaster to John o’Groats’ followed by ‘Chariot Race across Britain’ and then ‘Catch a Cab to Jerusalem’.

Each of the games has a first prize of a Telefunken Android Tablet with 3G, Wifi and Bluetooth which have been donated by Black Bear Computers of Lancaster.

Rev Gisbourne said: “We are delighted to have been able to use this unique fundraising opportunity to help raise funds for the church roof.

“We are extremely grateful to David of race2fundraise.com and Black Bear Computers for their generosity.

“This enables us to reach a different audience with our fundraising and competitors can have fun whilst helping a good cause.”

If you would like to support St Paul’s Church in their fundraising and take part in any of the races then visit www.race2fundraise.com.
