This will be the fifth event of its kind organised by Lancaster’s Mark Simpson AKA Simmo who has the uncanny and oft-overlooked ability to bring a shed load of musicians together in one place for a good old knees up.

The event kicks off on Friday June 3 at the Cable Street pub, which has had a new stage put in as part of its refurbishment and is now much more open plan.

Mark said: “This year we have 24 bands from all over the north west, Cumbria and Scotland in the 40th anniversary of punk music.

“This year has been particurlary difficult to organise due to my ongoing health problems but with the support of all my good friends and especially John at The Bobbin for his tireless assistance once again we are determined to have another two great days of music in our fifth year of Punk and Disorderly.

“It doesn’t seem that long since we did the first one!”

Next weekend, Sunday May 29, Lancaster and Morecambe six piece funk/rock/hip-hop outfit Carpe take to the new stage at The Bobbin as part of its re-opening celebrations.

The Bobbin has been closed since the severe flooding in Lancaster on December 5 when the pub ended up under three feet of water. The Yorkshire House is due to re-open soon too.
