Torrisholme Road and Greyhound Bridge partly closed after Lancaster flooding

A number of roads have been partly closed after heavy rain struck Lancaster and Morecambe earlier this morning.

Parts of Torrisholme Road, Owen Road and Morecambe Road have been flooded and a number of motorists have been at a standstill.

Torrisholme Bridge, the side via Morecambe, is currently closed after being submerged in four feet of water.

A car was trapped in the water and police and fire crews were called at around 10.30am this morning (Monday June 13). No one was in the car.

Lancashire Police have also confirmed Greyhound Bridge is nearly flooded and emergency services are currently working to divert traffic and residents.

More to come.
