Dog lovers in Lancaster are being invited to put their pooches to the test by signing up to the third annual Bark in the Park fundraising event.
Bark in the Park is a one hour long sponsored walk followed by a fun dog show in aid of cancer support charity CancerCare, based in Slyne Road, and will take place on Saturday March 1 in Williamson Park.
Bark in the Park entry is £5 per dog and the walk kicks off at 12 noon from the Ashton Memorial in Williamson Park. The Fun Dog show begins after the walk and is open to all dogs who have taken part in the walk only with rosettes and prizes for the winners. Registration for the Fun Dog Show is available on the day only and costs £1.50 per entry per category.
Fun dog show categories include; Prettiest Bitch, Handsomest Dog, Waggiest Tail, Best rescue, The Best Mis-Matched Pair, Judges favourite and Dog Most like its owner.

CancerCare supports local people whose lives are affected by cancer as well as their families, carers and anyone who has been bereaved by cancer.
They offer a wide range of free professional support services delivered by experienced and qualified staff including counselling, hypnotherapy, aromatherapy massage, creative art therapies and exercise classes to name but a few.
The charity also offers a dedicated Children and Young People’s Service for children as young as three.
