Following the news that the Eric Morecambe Statue in Morecambe had been honoured with a prestigious award from the world’s largest travel website, the resort’s Happy Mount Park has now also got its own share of the limelight.
Both the popular statue and park have been awarded a 2014 Certificate of Excellence by TripAdvisor.
The award is given to leisure attractions to signify that they have consistently earned outstanding feedback from travel website TripAdvisor’s travellers.
The prestigious award is based on the quality of reviews and the opinions it has earned on the website over the past year.
Coun Ron Sands, Lancaster City Council’s cabinet member with responsibility for tourism, said: “This is another piece of fantastic news for Morecambe which is clearly meeting the expectations of many of its visitors to its promenade and popular Happy Mount Park.”
“Again, thanks must go to all those involved in keeping the statue and the park in tip top condition for visitors to enjoy all year round.”
