Count butterflies in summer survey

Become a wildlife detective this summer and take part in the world’s largest butterfly survey during July and August.

More than 46,000 people took part in the Count last year counting more than 800,000 butterflies and day-flying moths in their gardens, parks and local countryside.

Good weather this July and August could help Big Butterfly Count participants count a million butterflies.

Christian event on Morecambe promenade

A tent will be going up on Morecambe promenade later this week for the start of a ten-day event aimed at publicising the Christian message.

The Morecambe Mission will be based opposite the Winter Gardens and will see evening meetings

held from July 24 to August 4.

There will also be a special memorial service on August 2 for those who died during the two World Wars.

At the events, which will be at 7.30pm, there will be a variety of speakers, with local ministers being

joined by several experienced evangelists.
