Morecambe MP David Morris visited Our Lady’s Catholic College to wish pupil Naomi Genitoni-Smith good luck ahead of a big trip.

Naomi displayed her science project “Research of novel fire retardants for composites” at the Big Bang UK Fair at the NEC in Birmingham last week.

A panel of judges gave Naomi 15 minutes to demonstrate her project.

Mr Morris said: “I was pleased to meet Naomi and to hear about her science project.

“I think it is really excellent news that she was presenting her project to the Big Bang Fair at the NEC and I was able to wish her the very best of luck.

“I sit on the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, and one of the things we strive to do is to engage young people in science.

“I think Naomi is a shining example of this.”
