Lancaster venue dresser aims to make dreams come true

Eneshia Prescott has just won New Business of the Year at the North West Wedding Awards – the industry leading awards in the wedding industry for the whole of the north west – for her venue dressing business Poppins Parties and Events.

Eneshia launched the business two years ago after borrowing £200 from her mum.

She had also just given birth to her son Rayfe at the time.

Eneshia, who works from her Bowerham home, where she lives with her partner Johnny and Rayfe, who is three next month, studied event management at Lancaster University and was given the money by her mum when she graduated in 2014.

She said: “I spent the first year laying the foundations, but this year I have done a lot of weddings and balls.

“I like things that are a bit different. I thought there was a bit of a gap in the market for a business like this.

“I have things that are a bit different, such as a white bouncy castle, which is the only one in the north west.

“A lot of people have an idea of what they want but they don’t know if it’s possible, but I can make it possible.”

Eneshia was nominated for the North west Wedding Awards by a client, and was interviewed by judges, who also researched her business.

She was opresented with her award during a prestigious event at the Imperial War Museum North in Manchester recently.

Enushia has since also been nominated for an Enterprise Vision Award.
