A resident of Kingsway, who did not wish to be named, said: “I think that it is great that the building is getting a refurb, as some areas are looking a little tired. So an impressive budget has been earmarked for the project. It’s a fab location and within walking distance of so much that Lancaster has to offer.”

Michael Redford, managing director at Irwell Valley Housing said: “It’s a sector that is a vital and growing component of Lancaster’s economic strength and we want to contribute to that growth. This is a significant investment that will benefit residents and improve the features of this iconic landmark.”

Works are scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
