A team of enthusiastic cyclists from Virgin Trains have raised £655 for disabled children’s charity Unique Kidz and Co.

The cyclists raised the funds by selling specially designed cycle jerseys with both the Unique Kidz and Virgin Trains logos.

The team comes from across the country including Blackpool, Morecambe, Preston, Wigan, Blackpool, Glasgow and Wolverhampton.

Les Lavercombe, a train manager from Morecambe, said: “We chose to support Unique Kidz and Co as we know that they are a small local charity with big plans and we wanted to help.

“We are hoping to get involved in more fundraising for Unique Kidz and Co this year, taking part in cycle challenges as a team and involving the whole Virgin Trains company.” Jane Halpin, co-founder at Unique Kidz and Co, said: “This is a wonderful and most welcome donation.”
