Construction firm scores with £3.5m rugby ground scheme

The company, which has its headquarters in Aldrens Lane, Lancaster, is about to start work on-site delivering the purpose-built clubhouse, sports and training facilities in Shap Road.

Kendal, promoted to the National League this season, are looking to move into their prestigious new home next summer.

Cheshire-based and family-owned Morbaine are responsible for the relocation development, which paves the way for the creation of a new 83,000 sq ft Sainsbury’s supermarket on the club’s old ground.

It is the latest in a line of high-profile awards for Pinington, which is seeing sustained growth in its contract pipeline for 2016/2017.

The group continues to develop its integrated construction and mechanical and electrical services offering its expertise in the education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors.

Pinington has several further projects awaiting approval and is looking to build on key framework partnerships, which are playing a pivotal role in the company’s strategic growth plans.

The family-owned firm was appointed on two new north west agreements earlier this year.

Other high-profile projects awarded to Pinington this year include new Engineering Centre facility for Blackpool and Fylde College, Food and Farm Innovation Technology centre phase 1 for Myerscough College and a warehouse development for haulage group Surefreight.

In March this year, Pinington was appointed on a four-year Cumbria County Council framework and extended its partnership with Lancashire County Council by successfully being appointed on three separate four-year agreements.

Established in 1948, Pinington remains a family business with the third generation of the founders now directors of the company.

The Pinington Group has a main contracting arm servicing projects in all key sectors with a value range of £50,000 up to £5m. Negotiated work accounts for approximately 25 per cent of the company’s turnover.

It also has a successful mechanical and electrical arm and a building maintenance operation.
