Local coffee house owner and father-of-two Edward Oldfield will be bringing his big personality to the small screen next week as he features in a brand new episode of Channel Four’s Come Dine with Me.
During the hour-long show, Edward will join three other hopefuls from the region to compete in a week-long culinary challenge.
To claim a prize of £1,000, not to mention gastronomic glory, each contestant will host a three course meal which will then be marked out of ten by their fellow diners.
Filming for the show, which will air on Monday, September 16 at 5pm, took place in a number of areas across Lancashire including Morecambe and Lancaster, where Edward owns and runs his Esquires Coffee Houses business in Cheapside.
Speaking about his experience, Edward said: “I had a great time filming the show. It was such a fun experience meeting all the new people and putting my cooking skills to the test, even if the house was turned upside down a little by all the filming crew!
“The day I hosted my dinner party was particularly intense but I have to admit how much I enjoyed all the attention we got from local people whilst filming in streets of Lancaster.
“I can’t wait to see what the final show looks like and I know my customers are looking forward to seeing whether or not I won too.
“They’ll just have to tune in on Monday to find out!”
Esquires Coffee Houses opened in Lancaster in May 2012.
The coffee house is one of 30 Esquires Coffee Houses in communities across the UK and boasts the largest selection of Fairtrade products offered by a high street coffee chain to date.
