The CancerCare Cross Bay Challenge events are set to return this summer.

The annual Cross Bay Challenge events will see more than 600 people make their way across the shifting sands of Morecambe Bay on July 6 to raise money for South Lakes and north Lancashire families facing cancer.

Organised by cancer support charity CancerCare, the events offer participants a truly unique way to experience the stunning local scenery with a

choice of a half marathon challenge or a family-friendly seven mile walk.

This year’s events will be led by Morecambe Bay Fisherman’s Association who will be providing expert guidance and safety support on the day.

Jane Staniford, fundraising team leader at CancerCare, said: “Due to the unique nature of the Cross Bay Challenges, we’ve been working closely with Lancaster City Council and the Bay Guides to ensure that the event is as safe as possible.

“We are really looking forward to it this year – it’s always a special occasion.”
