Fitness enthusiasts are being invited to join a 12 hour Boot Camp taking place in a Bolton-le-Sands gym and on the beach in Morecambe to raise funds for a new centre for disabled children being built in Lancaster.
The Boot Camp will take place on Saturday, May 17 and is being organised by personal trainers from BayFit.
The day will start bright and early at 7am at BayFit’s studios with a range of organised classes running every hour from AbFit to BoxFit, KettleFit to UltraFit.
Then at 5pm there will be a 5k run from BayFit to the Clock Tower in Morecambe.
Finally, starting at 6pm for the last hour will be a range of fun and fitness activities for families on the beach by the clock tower.
Jefferson Cartmel, a personal trainer at BayFit, said: “Support from the local community has led BayFit from strength to strength and Unique Kidz and Co needs that support too.
“Unique Kidz and Co is a fantastic local cause and we are very proud to be associated with their ‘Kit it out for the Kidz’ campaign.”
Ellen Smith, a fundraiser for Unique Kidz and Co, said: “The charity is in the final stages of raising the £50,000 needed to kit out a new centre of excellence for local disabled children which is being built in Lancaster.
“Already more than 30 people have joined the Boot Camp, but it would be great to see more.
“It will be a fun but challenging day! You don’t need to be a member of BayFit to join, anyone can take part, and you just need to raise a minimum of £60 to take part for the whole day, or £5 for each hour you join, with the person raising the most winning a prize of personal training sessions at BayFit.
“Our thanks also go to Black Bear Computers in Lancaster, who are supporting the event.”
For those not able to take part, you can support the team by donating to www.justgiving.com/bayfitbootcampchallenge.
