IT’S been a year in the planning, has a heritage going back a quarter of a century and it opens this weekend.
Merlin and the Legend of King Arthur marks The Dukes’ 25th annual season of outdoor walkabout theatre in Williamson Park and its last for the foreseeable future.
This new version of the epic story, by awardwinning children’s writer Kevin Dyer, is set in the Dark Ages when England is in turmoil, battles rage and evil lurks behind every corner.
Tales of enchantment, terrifying quests, a beautiful sorceress and a fearsome dragon mix fantasy and reality. The dramatic journey begins in The Dell, one of the magical locations created during The Dukes 25-year history in the park and will take in two locations never before used by The Dukes.
