A LANCASTER resident is “over the moon” following the return of her “golden boy”.

Mary Ryan’s statue of a little boy was returned to her by police today, Thursday, following a press appeal.

The two feet high gold painted stone statue was stolen from outside her flat in Albion Mews overnight on July 4.

The statue had huge sentimental value to Mary, as it was the last thing she bought with her partner, who died seven years ago.

Mary said: “I’m over the moon to be reunited with my golden boy.”

Police say the statue was recovered from an address in Morecambe this morning, Thursday, and an investigation is ongoing.
