Lancaster wedding dress walk a flop

Lancaster’s ex-brides stood up organisers of a wedding dress walk.

Health promotion body the North West Healthy Living Network hoped hundreds would wear bridal dresses for what it called “The Big Big Day” at Williamson Park last Saturday. It said the walk would be accompanied by live music, DJs, stalls and “a family, fun atmosphere”.

But the small, small turnout – only around 50 of the 300 people who registered and paid showed up – made the event a flop.

Organisers blamed bad weather for the no-show, but tried to look on the bright side.
