Revenues and benefits staff based at Lancaster Town Hall have walked, crawled, leaped, cycled, climbed and sprinted their way through the summer to raise more than £6,300 for local and national charities.

Kick starting the fundraising campaign in August this year, revenues officer Daniel Gee joined volunteers supporting Lancaster-born paraplegic wheelchair adventurer Shaun Gash in climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. September saw another flurry of equally strenuous fundraising feats with benefits officers Hayley Dempsey and Janine Camm completing a 52 mile charity cycle ride from Trafford Centre, Manchester, to Blackpool promenade. Revenues officers Kerryl Fell, Carol Adair and Michelle Cope donned their walking boots for the PureChallenge 45K Canal Walk from Bolton-le-Sands to Glasson Dock.

Hayley and Janine raised more than £400 in aid of British Heart Foundation on completing their four hour 38 minute cycle challenge. Michele Van De Sande took part in a six day trek of a stretch of the Great Wall of China to raise funds for St John’s Hospice’s, in Lancaster. Council staff based at Lancaster and Morecambe town halls raised more than £400 for Macmillan Cancer Support by holding cake sales.
