Titanic banquet should go down well

The last dinner eaten by guests in the first-class dining saloon of the Titanic is to be recreated in Lancashire.

Michael Weston-Cole, executive head chef at Bowland Village Inns, will treat guests to a menu inspired by the 10-course feast served up on the doomed ship almost 100 years ago.

It will be dished up during two themed murder mystery nights to be held at the Fenwick, Claughton, Lancaster, on Wednesday, February 24 and the Punchbowl, Churchtown, Garstang, on Thursday, February 25.

The Edwardian-inspired three course meal will include Consomm Olga, a clear beef and vegetable soup, roast duckling with apple sauce and Waldorf pudding.

Michael said: "It is an honour to be able to re-create such a lavish meal for guests.

"I have really enjoyed researching the original menu and using it to inspire my own version using local Lancashire produce. We will produce a feast just as glorious as the one on the Titanic."

Guests will be taken back to 1912 for a night of disaster and deliberation as they try to find out 'whodunnit'.
