An innovative, hard-hitting short film warning of the dangers of drink driving had its premiere at the Dukes Theatre last Thursday.

Steamed Up, an award-winning, 90 second long film clip, has been produced for the Lancaster District Alcohol Harm Reduction Partnership (LDAHP), in the hope of highlighting the dangers of drink driving to young people across Lancashire.

So far, the clip has had over three million viewings on YouTube, and will now appear on the big screen as an advert before films at cinemas in Lancaster and Morecambe.

Jacqui Thompson, chair of the LDAHP said: "We needed a medium for our message that young drivers wanted to engage with, would distribute among friends, and subesequently help change attitudes. The huge number of viewing figures and feedback clearly demonstrate that this viral has been designed, produced and distributed in the right way."
