Lorna Bird, director of Animal Planet Pet Supplies outside the premises on Whitefield Place, where a ram raid took place and the pet guinea pig, Del Boy, was stolen as well as charity collection boxes and stock.

A GUINEA pig called Del Boy was stolen along with hundreds of pounds worth of animal supplies after a shop was ram-raided in Morecambe.

Thieves broke into Animal Planet on the Whitefield Place Industrial Estate sometime between 5.30pm on January 8 and 1am on January 9, taking items like dog toothpaste, worming tablets and rabbit feed before bundling Del Boy into a cat carrier and making their escape.

Lorna Bird, one of the company’s directors, said: “He’s my little man, and I would appeal for his return.

“It looks like they’ve rammed the front of the shop with a car or a van and then broken in.

“They’ve taken sacks of rabbit feed, sacks of mixed grain, Bob Martin dual action spot ons (flea killer), Johnson’s wormers, dog toothpaste, horse supplements, but they’ve not taken any dog or horse feed.

“It’s like they’ve had a shopping list.

“I’m still working through the value of stuff, but it’s well into the few hundreds.

“Del Boy was in a cage and he’s been taken out, the cage has been left, and it looks like he’s been taken in a cat carrier.”

Del Boy is described as a two year old male Guinea Pig, with black, tan and white colouring.
