GOLD bullion, platinum, rings, necklaces and earrings worth tens of thousands of pounds were stolen during a raid at a jewellery studio near Carnforth.

Burglars broke the locks on the door of the Macmillan Clare Designer Goldsmiths studio and workshop at Greenlands Farm Village, Tewitfield at 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 7.

The alarm was triggered but they escaped with two safes containing the valuable items and police believe a vehicle was used to remove them.

Police are appealing for witnesses who had seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to come forward by contacting police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or at Crimestoppers-uk.org.
