Glam girl Sarah wants your votes
Gorgeous teenager Sarah Hardie is appealing ... for your votes!
The 19-year-old, from Longcroft in Astley, is among 800 contestants of all shapes, sizes and backgrounds competing in the UK Glamour Girl of the Year 2009 competition.
Sarah is dreaming of being one of 12 girls who win a place on a "Glam Girls in the Movies" charity calendar and needs votes from supporters to book her place in the semi-final of the contest.
Sarah, who works as an administration assistant, said: "I received an e-mail in May with some details on the competition and so I jumped at the chance. It sounded like a lot of fun, so I thought why not?"
Each contestant was given a choice of 12 charities to raise money for as part of the competition.
They must raise as much money for their chosen charity as possible to book their place in the semi-finals.
They raise money by asking supporters to send a text vote for them to the organisers, national modelling information service Alba Model Info, by July 12.
They will only find out how much they have managed to raise at the semi-finals, which are being held in different regions across the UK.
Sarah, who has decided to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "My friends and family are 100% behind me, and I hope the people of the borough will be supporting me too."
The charity challenge and sale of the "Glam Girls in the Movies" charity calendar 2010 is expected to raise around 1.5m, to be divided between 12 charities.
If she is lucky enough to be one of the 12 girls featured in the calendar, Sarah will get the chance to dress up as a famous film actress.
She said: "I'd love to dress up as Marilyn Monroe, she was the most beautiful woman to have ever graced the silver screen."
