Chef Jamie Oliver gives Garstang cheese seal of approval
A UNIQUE blue Lancashire cheese has got the seal of approval from Jamie Oliver.
Garstang Blue, a hand-made blue cheese produced by cheesemasters Dew-Lay of Garstang, features strongly in a new Sainsbury's advert being aired on prime time national television in the run up to Christmas.
In the Taste The Difference ad, Jamie picks up the mini round special edition cheese in a Christmassy red and gold foil wrapper to promote Christmas crostini party nibbles using Garstang Blue with red onion chutney, chopped chives and crushed walnuts.
And now bosses at the Dew-Lay dairy are gearing up for an avalanche of orders as consumers join in the Yuletide cheese fest.
Almost 20,000 special edition 200 gram Garstang Blue cheeses have already been delivered to Sainsbury's in what is Dew-Lay's first ever tie-up with the major retailer.
