LOCAL author Michael Dilworth signed copies of his humorous debut novel at Lancaster’s Corn Market Waterstone’s on Saturday.

One More Time... is a novel within a novel, telling the story of Liam Kirk and his relationship with Valerie Walters.

Liam later writes a novel based on the relationship – without changing her name, which wouldn’t be such a problem if she hadn’t just gatecrashed Liam’s life for a second time and was now reading his account of their relationship.

Set in various Lancastrian pubs and Californian coffee bars, this wry novel marks the writing debut of Mr Dilworth, who was born and raised in Silverdale.

Mr Dilworth had previously spent several years writing for football fanzines, before deciding to take his writing to the next level by writing a novel.

Listing his biggest influences as Nick Hornby and Bill Bryson, he started to write a book loosely based on his own youthful antics.

He currently lives in Heysham with his wife and two children.

One More Time... is published by Empire Publications.
