Keeping kids active over Easter

Exciting sports, art and adventure activities are on offer as part of Lancaster City Council’s programme of children’s events over the Easter holidays.

Nature lovers won’t be disappointed as there are exciting activities including animal care with the zookeepers at Williamson Park, crabbing and rock pooling in Morecambe Bay as well as old favourites such as bug hunting and a habitat trail quiz.

If it’s sport they enjoy, there’s ice skating, archery, wakeboarding, skiing, golf, fishing, football coaching sessions at Manchester United’s former training ground and a FIFA 13 XBox Challenge at Salt Ayre Sports Centre.

Activities kick off on Monday April 1 and run until Friday April 12 and there’s loads more activities to choose from.

All sessions take place in a fun and safe environment and are run by experienced coaches with full week, full day and half day activities available. Equipment is provided for all courses and transport is on offer for some of the sessions.

The sessions are open for anyone between the ages of four and sixteen

Copies of the holiday programme are also available from Lancaster and Morecambe Town Hall, Salt Ayre Sports Centre, the council’s community pools at Heysham, Carnforth and Hornby and from Lancaster museums.
