Hoff’s baywatch

THE campaign to reopen Morecambe’s historic Winter Gardens has been given the backing of former Baywatch and Knight Rider star David Hasselhoff.

The 1980s cult legend – known to fans around the world as The Hoff – was shown around Parliament on Tuesday by Morecambe MP David Morris.

Mr Morris first met Hasselhoff when they both worked in the music industry in the 1980s.

Hasselhoff had two number one hits in Germany while backbencher Mr Morris wrote songs for the pop producers Stock, Aitken and Waterman. He was also once in a band with Rick Astley.

Hasselhoff said: “It was nice to see David Morris in Parliament.
