Fitness enthusiasts raised £4,000 for a Lancaster children’s charity by taking part in a 12-hour boot camp at the weekend.

The money will go towards funding a new centre for disabled youngsters, run by Unique Kidz and Co.

The boot camp was held at BayFit in Bolton-le-Sands and included a range of organised classes from AbFit to BoxFit, KettleFit to UltraFit.

There was also a 5k run from BayFit to the clock tower in Morecambe, before a range of fun and fitness activities for families on the beach.

Jefferson Cartmel, a personal trainer at BayFit, said: “Unique Kidz and Co is a fantastic local cause and we are very proud to be associated with their Kit it out for the Kidz campaign.”

Ellen Smith, a fundraiser for Unique Kidz and Co, said: “The charity is in the final stages of raising the £50,000 needed to kit out a new centre of excellence for local disabled children which is being built in Lancaster.”
