The festive season is fast approaching and this is the time when the vast majority of even seasoned veterans of the gym start to slow down and miss a few sessions.
But wait one second, do not do such a thing. A few weeks of poor eating and binge drinking can undo months of your previous hard work. All that sweat and hard work could be for nothing. Now I am not for one second asking you to be perfect throughout this festive holidays.
Not at all. I do urge you though, to stick to four rules over the coming weeks. Don’t go three days without working out. Commit to doing three bouts of exercise per week.
Exercise with someone else and have fun.
Christmas is not all laughs and smiles for everyone. You may not know it, but someone you train with may struggle at this time of the year and your smile and encouragement will make all the difference.
Personally, I will be doing my best to get my minimum of three sessions a week in, which I have been slacking on as of late. Things get in the way. Life, stress, family, business. When this happens, as it does with us all, refer back to our previous feature on your why and your what. What do you want and why do you want it?
Think back to that and it makes the world of difference.
The fourth, not forgotten, rule would be to not get too upset with yourself if you aren’t perfect with the above three rules. Just get back on track as soon as you can.
