THE FIRST of a series of one-day exhibitions enabling people to have their say on the Heysham to M6 link road is taking place today (June 9).
The Lancashire County Council team responsible for delivering the new road will be on hand to answer questions and gather responses to the plans.
The exhibition is at the Memorial Hall on Hanging Green Lane in Slyne with Hest and runs from 2.30pm to 7.30pm.
A new planning regime introduced by the government means a fresh planning application is now needed for the road. People can comment on the changes to the design during a new consultation process being held in June and July.
The exhibition will feature displays with detailed plans for each section of the road as well as information about every aspect of the plans, from proposals to limit the impact on the environment, to traffic management schemes to reduce congestion through Lancaster.
An animated fly-through of what the planned Heysham to M6 link road would look like is available online at www.youtube.com/lancashirecc
In addition to the exhibitions, people can respond to the consultation by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org , visiting www.lancashire.gov.uk/heyshamlink or calling 0845 053 0011.
