Halton - The centre of our world

The Centre @ Halton, in Low Road, Halton, has been a project almost 10 years in the making, led by passionate volunteers determined that the village should have somewhere to hold meetings and classes, have fun, and provide decent facilities for the young people in the area.

It all began in earnest in 2003, when questionnaires were circulated as part of the Halton parish plan, which revealed the most important thing for Halton residents was to see improvements to the village community centre.

“There was a decision as to whether it should be demolished or improved, but there was a determination that it wasn’t going to close, and that was the trigger for the action plan,” said Brian Jefferson, Halton Parish Council chairman and one of the leading lights in getting the project off the ground.
