Weeds are taking over a street so much that it has been dubbed ‘weedy city.’
Tom Evans, 74, of Cyprus Road, Heysham, said: “All the visitors to my home refer to the road as ‘weedy city’.
“The council sent somebody to spray the pavement, but they have not followed it up.The dead weeds are still there and the rye grass is ready for harvesting.”
Andy Ashcroft, highways manager for Lancaster, said: “The recent warm weather has resulted in the rapid growth of vegetation and weed.
“Our teams are working quickly to deal with this problem.
“Cyprus Road received a second spray treatment this week.”
