A girl suffered serious injuries when she became trapped under a coach for an hour following a collision in Galgate on Monday afternoon.
The 11-year-old girl, believed to be from the village, suffered multiple fractures to her arm, hand and leg after being hit by the coach in Main Road, 50m away from the New Inn pub, at around 3.20pm.
Police said the coach was a white Scania single decker vehicle, and the girl’s arm had become trapped under the wheel.
North West Ambulance Service attended the scene for over an hour before taking the girl to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary for treatment.
Police say she was then taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, where she is in a stable condition.
The A6 was closed between Lancaster University and Galgate and re-opened at 4.40pm.
