Fourth lane of M6 set to reopen

Three lanes of the M6 northbound have been reopened following a fatal accident on the carriageway near Junction 31 at Preston.

It is anticipated that the fourth northbound lane will reopen after 6pm.

Police are now trying to identify the man who died. A police spokesperson said he is believed to be in his late 40s and from the Preston area.

When the investigation has been completed a file will be prepared and passed to the coroner.
