THE Platform in Morecambe is packed with Christmas crackers this year with a full programme of festive entertainment for the family to enjoy.
A series of carol concerts will be showcasing some of the area’s finest musicians in the lead up to Christmas, and there will be a sprinkling of family pantomime both before and after Christmas Day.
The St Laurence Singers, directed by Margaret Pattinson, are presenting a Christmas Carol Concert on Tuesday, December 13, at 7.30pm.
The choir was formed in the late 1960s by one of Morecambe’s most famous musical sons, Dr Frank Woodhouse.
When St Laurence’s Church in central Morecambe closed, the choir members continued singing services at other churches, and performing concerts while recruiting some fine local singers.
