NOW the clocks have sprung forward, preparations are coming on leaps and bounds for what will be the 25th summer of Dukes plays in Williamson Park.
This week has seen auditions for this year’s production of Merlin & The Legend of King Arthur that take will place in both London and Lancaster.
Thousands of actors apply to be a part of the UK’s biggest outdoor walkabout theatre event.
Director Joe Sumsion said: “A lot more people wanted to be in it this year, and we had many applying even before the casting brief went out.”
April sees the rehearsal script completed by Kevin Dyer, now an associate artist of The Dukes and a veteran writer of park shows. Last year, he won the 2010 Writers Guild of Great Britain Award for Best Play for Children and Young People.
