Family’s sad task to clear Anuj’s room

THE parents and brother-in-law of murdered Lancaster University student Anuj Bidve last week visited the university campus before their son’s body was flown back to India to be cremated.

His father Subhash Bidve, mother Yogini and Rakesh Sonawane met university vice-chancellor Mark Smith, along with Anuj’s microelectronics tutors and fellow students.

They also had the emotional task of collecting Anuj’s belongings from his room.

The visit on Thursday evening followed a packed day which began in London, where they visited their son’s body at a funeral directors, and met Keith Vaz MP, chairman of the home affairs select committee, to discuss concerns about the police investigation.
