The organiser of a music event in Lancaster has apologised for using the same name as a more established counterpart.

Ryan Angelis said he was sorry if any confusion had been caused after calling his event – held at the Vale of Lune Rugby Club in July – Lancaster Music Festival.

Lancaster Music Festival has been held in multiple venues in the city in October for the last four years.

Ryan said that he has now re-named his event Lancaster Live, and plans to run something similar again next year.

Ben Ruth, Lancaster Music Festival co-ordinator said: “We are delighted that the organiser of the event at the Vale of Lune RUFC has agreed to rename his event and inform his network accordingly.

“We look forward to seeing this happen as promised.

“We support all cultural events in and around our district provided they work with each other and are sensitive to the efforts of others who work so very hard to support the wealth of art and culture in our district.”

Lancaster Music Festival takes place between October 11 - 13 this year.
