SOME of the UK’s freshest comedy talent is hoping to fill Lancaster University’s Great Hall with the sound of laughter.

Uni Travel Comedy Night will be held on Febuary 20, and organisers hope it’s the first of many showcases to be held at the university.

Comedians performing include Alan Cochrane, who has taken part in Michael McIntrye’s comedy roadshow and Have I Got News For You, as well as BBC Two’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

Joining him is Chris Ramsey, who has appeared on 8 out of 10 Cats, Comedy Rocks on ITV1, and taken a supporting role on Al Murray’s Pub Landlord tour.

Also performing will be DJ Tom Deacon, winner of Chortles student comedian award in 2007.

He now hosts his own show on Radio 1 every Sunday from 7pm, and he also makes time to perform stand up on The Rob Brydon Show on BBC2.

Carl Donnelly will also be delighting the audience.
