Popular guitarist set for Kendal gig

ONE of the most talked about guitarists and songwriters in the North West will be bringing his intriguing brand of blues to Kendal this weekend.

Denis Jones uses a loop station and an array of samplers and effects to create complex orchestrations of beat-box rhythms, multi-layered vocals and other-wordly sounds which veer from folk and blues to bass-driven electronica.

Denis’s second album Red + Yellow= is out now, along with a limited edition 10” vinyl EP including remixes by Graham Massey of Manchester electronic legends 808 State.

Brewery music programmer Mike Chadwick said: “Denis is a completely unique and intriguing artist whose music cannot be pigeonholed into any specific genre. He has also collaborated with artists all over Europe and earned a place as a regular on the festival scene including Glastonbury.”
