Brave hero out to get bankers

THE classic tale of Robin Hood has been given a timely update to tackle the banking crisis in a pantomime currently being staged in Bentham.

Robin Hood will be perfomed at Bentham Town Hall, Station Road, High Bentham, today, February 16, and tomorrow at 7.30pm and on Saturday at 6.30pm.

A spokesman for the performers said: “Of course our new panto has a brave Robin Hood and a beautiful Maid Marion, an evil sheriff, a pie-munching Friar Tuck and a very flirtatious Nanny Lakeber, but this year it also features grasping bankers who love to rap as they grind the faces of the poor.

“You may be sure they will come to a sticky end!

“With a cast of Benthamers aged from five to 79 this panto will warm your heart on a cold winter’s night.”

Tickets are £5.50 (£3.50 concessions).

Tickets are available from Temptations shop on Main Street, High Bentham.
