A new drop-off point has been created outside St Mary and Michael Catholic Primary School in Garstang in a bid to help prevent road accidents.

Parents raised concerns about parking outside the Castle Lane building and feared an accident could happen during the busy morning school-run.

Lancashire Partnership Against Crime has paid for high-visibility jackets for staff running the scheme to wear.

Police Community Support Officer John Holland said: “The school is on a busy main road and suffers from lack of parking. While there have been no accidents at the school, we were keen to address the issues to ensure this remains the case.”
