Pupils from Morecambe Road School took part in workshops focusing on broadcasting, presenting and green screen filming last week.

Councillor Margaret Pattison a member of Morecambe Town Council attended the workshops to gain feedback from the pupils and show her support.

She said: “It was a pleasure attending the broadcasting workshop at Morecambe Road School. Seeing the pupils getting involved with such enthusiasm made it all the more worthwhile to be a member of Morecambe Town Council.

“I am glad even with all the cuts taking place that the Council have managed to put aside a budget for more grants like these to be offered in 2014/15.

“I hope this project can continue as I think it brings out individuality in the pupils and I will be sure to attend future workshops.”

The workshops, which were delivered by You2Air, who were successful in gaining funding from Morecambe Town Council, were to enable pupils to develop their confidence and communication skills as well as learn some technical methods and background knowledge on broadcasting.

The broadcasting workshops have also been delivered to West End Primary School and are planned to continue in other schools in the area.
