Both teams have now qualified for the Lancashire Youth Games which will be held later this month.

The event was set up by five University of Cumbria BA (Hons) Coaching and Sport Development students, currently in their final year of study.

As part of an events management module, the students organised and coordinated the festival for Year 5 and 6 pupils from Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham.

The students were given the “Inspired by London 2012” mark to back the event, which was held at the Vale of Lune Rugby Club in Powderhouse Lane, Lancaster.
